Sandee, a political science major at Swarthmore and a 1976 graduate of the University of Tulsa Law School, was the third Black female law graduate in Oklahoma and the only Black female in private practice in the state until the late 1980s.
Condolences may be sent to Sandee's brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Sobra Alexander, at 2319 Aspen Ave., Murfresesboro, TN 37130. Memorial gifts may be sent to Planned Parenthood, 1007 So. Peoria Ave., Tulsa, Oklahoma 74120.
You can read about Sandra's life in an article published in the Swarthmore magazine a few years ago. She was proud to be descended from survivors of the Wall St. Massacre in Tulsa in 1921. The Oklahoma State University recorded an oral history with her in 2021. And Holland Hall School in Tulsa, where she was the first Black student to enroll, published her reminiscence a few years ago.
