Virginia (Val) Lancina Graham, 64, of Greenwich, CT died peacefully on June 23, 2015 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Russell Frost Graham, her daughter Elizabeth Graham Field and husband James of Kensington, Maryland, her son Russell Frost Graham Jr. and wife Adriane of Greenwich, her sister Ann Brueggemann of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and three grandchildren.
Born in New York, Val grew up in Spain, Panama and Peru before attending the Putney School in Vermont and Swarthmore College. She joined the U.S. State Department as a Foreign Service Officer in 1974, where she met her husband of 40 years. She served at the American Embassies in Costa Rica, Morocco, Pakistan and Peru before returning home to serve at the United States Mission to the United Nations in New York. Upon her retirement from the Foreign Service, Val worked at Cummings and Lockwood in Greenwich.
Val was an avid golfer, a prolific cook, enjoyed foreign travel, and was fluent in Spanish and French.
